Jamestown Bridge demolition














On April 18th, 2006 the central span Jamestown Bridge was demolished with 350 blast charges.
This blog will chronicle the history and demise of what is now referred to in Rhode Island as "The Old Jamestown Bridge."

Here's the problem with this story:

RI paid millions to have the bridge removed, when a Chinese company had offered to take it down for free (they wanted the steel)!

The salvage company that got paid millions got to keep/sell the steel!

Yikes, business as usual in RI....
